Improvements in large language models have already allowed Google to offer a limited number of video content creators the ability to automatically dub their videos in different languages. Now access to this feature has been extended to YouTubers who make informative and educational videos.
Creators who, for example, run cooking channels or share the mastery tips in various spheres can get automatic video dubbing. Eventually, the feature will also cover those channels that specialize in other types of content.
To utilize the new feature, the creator of the video simply needs to upload the original video as usual. YouTube will detect the language of the video automatically and generate duplicate versions in different languages if the user has checked the necessary box in the interface of the upload page. The supported languages so far include English, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish.
However, Google warns that Gemini’s ability to recreate human speech in various languages is still limited.
