TikTok has announced that its service in the US is back up and running after a brief court-ordered shutdown. The company thanked Donald Trump on X for this. That said, the app is still unavailable on the App Store and Google Play.
“In agreement with our service providers, TikTok is in the process of restoring service. We thank President Trump for providing the necessary clarity and assurance to our service providers that they will face no penalties providing TikTok to over 170 million Americans and allowing over 7 million small businesses to thrive,” stated TikTok.
You may recall that the Joe Biden administration released a statement saying that enforcement of the ban “will be up to the next administration.” Afterward, Donald Trump released a message stating his intention to postpone the ban of TikTok.
At the same time, the US president-elect noted that TikTok would need to sell the app to continue its operations in the country.
