Now YouTube Shorts will start making automatic short videos for YouTube Shorts. Recently, the video hosting team offered a new feature of creating short videos from long videos. How will it work? We’ll tell you right away.
Admittedly, the idea doesn’t sound very clear. But in reality, it is quite simple. Now any long video can be turned into Shorts. Thanks to the new feature, a special service will select the most striking moments from a full-size video and create content for Shorts from them.
Here’s what YouTube itself has to say about this update:
“We’re experimenting with a feature that lets creators easily cut out engaging segments from long-form videos on YouTube and instantly publish them as separate 16:9 videos. If you’re a creator in the experiment, you will see the option to ‘Create a video highlight’ in the video editor tool in YouTube Studio Desktop.”
It’s actually pretty clear why YouTube puts such an emphasis on Shorts. With 70 billion daily views in 2024, it’s obvious that “fast” content is becoming more and more popular. Moreover, more and more advertisers are finding their ambassadors through Shorts.
In our opinion, the feature will be convenient for some creators. Nevertheless, we don’t deny that these generated videos will have to be edited manually to preserve the core concepts.
