YouTube has finished testing the new feature, and now every creator can make a QR code for their channel. According to the platform’s concept, this should provide an additional opportunity to promote your content both online and offline.
As explained by YouTube:
“To find your QR code, navigate to the “You” tab on the bottom of the menu of the YouTube app, tap the chip under your handle that says “Share Channel”, and then tap “QR code” in the menu that pops up to see your Channel’s QR code. You can then save it to your phone’s camera roll if you so choose, or pull it up to show someone nearby, so they can easily scan it to find your channel.”
Have you used QR codes anywhere other than restaurants or malls recently?
They’ve been around for quite some time, but we have to admit that they never became a prominent game changer.
On the other hand, Instagram is also working on the promotion of QR codes, that’s why we should consider that maybe this kind of communication will get a second wind in the nearest future?
In any case, it’s another way of promotion, and there’s never too many of them. So we would definitely advise you to make use of it.
Whether it will prove to be helpful or not.
