Important changes to YouTube’s appeal rules!

YouTube decided to give us Christmas in August? We simply can’t explain such a generous gift any other way: the platform has changed the rules for appealing monetization suspensions under the YouTube Partner Program (YPP).

Starting today, we will allow creators to appeal YPP suspensions for certain policy violations before they take effect, allowing creators to provide our Trust & Safety teams with additional information and avoid disruption to monetization where possible. Previously, creators could only submit an appeal after they had been suspended from YPP. This won’t be available for all suspensions to start with, but we hope to expand this over time” — the statement says.

Creators will now have 7 days to challenge the monetization suspension before the changes go into effect. This time period will be visible in the Earn section of YouTube Studio.

This way, you will have a week to correct the violations or prove their absence, and all this time the video will continue to be monetized

And it’s important to know that this will NOT reset your 90 day reapplication window if the suspension is upheld. You will still be able to reapply 90 days after your original suspension date, which will be visible in the monetization tab in Studio in step 2 of “What should you do next?” — YouTube noted.

Great news, right?
