News Digest: July 2026

Summer is full of drive and inspiration, that’s why so many social media developers are motivated to grow the attraction of users for more involvement and participation. It means more creative tools for creators, more respect for users who want to know how the ad or product was made, and more transparency for things related to creation and production processes in general. Come and read everything new that happened in July!

YouTube Makes It Easier to Create Thumbnails

Create Your YouTube Thumbnails Faster

YouTube is rolling out new tools for thumbnails to help creators make better first impressions! Eligible creators in the YouTube Partner Program can now upload custom thumbnails for Shorts. On desktop, YouTubers will be offered three suggested thumbnail frames to choose from. For longer videos, Ask Studio is now able to generate AI-powered thumbnails which creators can edit by changing colors, layouts, and other useful features via a chat.

These improvements will give creators more control over how their content looks, while making the process of creating thumbnails faster and more accessible.

Meta and Google expand AI labels for ads

Google and Meta Label It All Where AI Is Used

Meta and Google boost transparency of AI-generated advertising. How that happens? Meta is changing its ad labels to show when an ad uses content generated or edited by AI, whether that’s with Meta’s own tools or AI software from others. Google is also putting “Created or edited with AI” labels on ads across Search, YouTube, and Discover to give users more insight into how creative was developed.

Disclosure of AI use is becoming a fast-maturing and important part of campaign production and compliance for creators and brands. It’s important to be transparent about how it all was created, so that it makes it more reliable and trustworthy for viewers of the ads.

YouTube Updates Studio and Introduces More AI-Driven Insights

From YouTube Studio to Insights: Dynamic Change is Ahead

YouTube is testing out a new YouTube Studio experience with insights. The Analytics tab will soon be renamed to Insights and will include AI-powered cards to show channel performance, content patterns, audience loyalty, and emerging trends. YouTube is also tightening its guidance around repetitive and low-value content, clarifying that AI-generated videos lacking originality may be subject to monetization limits under the existing policies.

The message to creators is clear: YouTube wants to make analytics more dynamic and approachable, while continuing to reward original, high-quality content.

Meta launches Muse Spark 1.1

One New Model from Meta

Meta has launched Muse Spark 1.1, the next generation of its flagship AI model with major improvements in coding, multimodal understanding, and autonomous task execution. The update also introduces the Meta Model API that will allow creators to access the model to develop AI-powered applications.

While not a creator feature in and of itself, it’s a sign of Meta’s ongoing investment in AI across its ecosystem. Everyone uses AI now, so it’s worth knowing what models are more efficient. More powerful AI models will power future features for Facebook, Instagram, and Threads, speeding up content creation, automation, and creator tools across the company’s platforms.

TikTok Says: AI Can Help Speed Up Creation, but Relevance Still Wins

TikTok Report Observation in Brief

A new report by TikTok explores how creators, brands, and marketers are using generative AI in creative workflows. AI is used for content creation, but research shows that the key to successful campaigns is cultural relevance and audience insight. Quality over quantity, it’s as solid as ever. The winning brands are those that combine the efficiency of AI with the creativity and understanding of people.

So while AI can help creators speed up the content production process, the biggest advantages remain originality, authenticity, and understanding of your audience.

LinkedIn Keeps Investing in AI and Marketing

LinkedIn’s Attraction for Advertisers Grows

Microsoft’s latest earnings report showed LinkedIn revenue up 12% year-over-year, driven by its Marketing Solutions business. The results show that advertiser demand for LinkedIn continues to grow as the platform expands its AI-powered products and professional ecosystem.

This is another sign for creators that LinkedIn is growing more attractive for brands. As businesses continue to spend more on B2B marketing and creator partnerships on the platform, opportunities for niche experts are likely to continue to grow too.
