YouTube’s New Experiments: AI in Shorts and Streams Notifications

Not too long ago, the YouTube team introduced useful updates to users. Among them are AI music remixes, notifications for streams, and longer Shorts. What’s going to change? Let’s discuss this in this article.

Remix in Dream Track?

To begin with, “Dream Track” will now delight users with a new feature: remixes. How does it work? Previously, each user could create their own track for Shorts inside YouTube using AI. From now on, you can transform ready-made tracks and change their style.

As the YouTube team states:

“If you’re a creator in the experiment group, you can select an eligible song, describe how you want to restyle it, then generate a unique 30-second soundtrack to use in your Short. For example, if you want to give a song a different genre or mood, you simply enter your vision into the ‘Restyle a track’ prompt and you’ll soon have a customized soundtrack that reimagines the music while maintaining the essence of the original song’s vocals and lyrics.”

It is said that the feature will be phased in gradually and is available for a limited number of people for now. However, “Dream Track” itself has been available to all users for a month now.

Old Videos VS Longer Shorts

Speaking of which, what’s up with the long YouTube Shorts? Earlier, we announced that you can now upload videos up to 3 minutes long to Shorts. However, the question on everyone’s mind was: what will happen to older videos that are under 3 minutes but not scheduled for Shorts?

Don’t worry. Although those videos uploaded after October 15 may be scheduled for Shorts, you can still control the situation yourself. And most importantly: your old short videos will definitely not be automatically moved to Shorts!

Live Streams Notifications

Moreover, YouTube announced the addition of streaming notifications right in the Shorts feed. Sounds pretty good, doesn’t it? Now any creator can schedule a stream, and their viewers will see a notification about it right when they’re watching Shorts.

This innovation seems quite useful to us. Of course, it’s a pity that creators won’t be able to customize such notifications and create them themselves.

Nevertheless, we are sure that more updates will be coming soon. And of course, we will tell you about them here, in our Blog section.
