As you can see below, much happened during September. Most of the updates are creator-specific deep dive into the improvements of creative processes that now become more dynamic than ever. Intrigued? Let’s read!
YouTube Introduces a New Wave of Creator Tools
At Made On YouTube 2026, YouTube shared the latest updates for creation, analytics, discovery, monetization, and creator protection. The most important changes are:
- Conversational editing: Now creators are able to use Gemini-powered tools for Shorts and YouTube Create that can help with trimming, reordering, synching music, and polishing videos with just photos, bits of videos, and prompts.
- Video A/B testing: This feature enables creators to test three different video cuts to see which one holds viewers’ attention better. What’s even better is that in YouTube Studio, a creator will be able to give a second life to old videos by revamping and testing new thumbnails.
- Smarter thumbnails: There are two features for working with thumbnails. In Ask Studio, you can create thumbnails that match your channel, and Dynamic Thumbnails can test different options with audience segments.
- Likeness protection: Likeness Detection is coming to mobile! YouTube says it will have speaking-voice detection integrated to improve match accuracy.
- Brand deals & Shopping: Creator Partnerships also get an expanded set of tools, like dynamic brand signals that allow you to choose a particular ad for a certain region and update it whenever you need. YouTube Shopping’s affiliate program is expanding to 35 countries by the end of 2026.
- Shorts series: Creators can group Shorts into episodic series with custom thumbnails. And across mobile, desktop, and TV, viewers have a dedicated “Watch series” button to watch episodes in order.
- Personalized comment moderation: This tool learns from a creator’s past comment removals and flags similar comments for review. Nothing gets deleted automatically.
- Interactive live streaming: There are major updates on many levels here. YouTube is trying out live auto-dubbing, Live Showdowns that allow viewers to co-stream on a split screen with fan funding, and an expanded Watch With option for eligible videos.
We can see that the creator workflow becomes even more integrated and now expands from basic production and optimization to audience growth, copyright protection, and monetization.
Meta Launches Muse and Expands AI Tools for Businesses
Meta has introduced Muse, a personal AI agent capable of more than answering questions: it can do things like planning trips, sending emails, booking travel, and shopping on a user’s behalf. Muse can also hook into services like Instagram and WhatsApp, and use the context from conversations to make personalized suggestions.
Meta is also launching Meta One for Business, a paid package that includes AI-powered business tools such as competitor insights, custom audience data, content scheduling recommendations and a business AI agent that can respond to customers.
By analyzing both launches, we can suggest Meta is making AI a more ingrained part of everyday content, audience, and customer management.
Creator-Led Instagram Collabs Deliver Stronger Results
A new study from Emplifi looked at over 520,000 Instagram posts from 3,791 brand profiles and found that creator-led partnerships consistently outperform regular brand posts and brand-led partnerships.
In these creator-led collaborations, the creator will publish the promotional post and invite the brand to collaborate. "This format drives over 5x amplification compared to non-collab posts in ecommerce and retail,” Emplifi says.
The effect is particularly obvious for Reels, where creators arguably have an advantage in terms of knowledge of short form formats and audience behavior. The results underscore how important it is for creators to post brand collaborations from their own accounts, and not on a brand’s profile.
Tagged Posts appear on Creators Profile Grids in Instagram
With this new update, users can add posts they’re tagged in to their main profile grid. Tagged posts get a new “Add to grid” option and added content is marked with a special tag icon. The update provides creators another way to highlight collaborations and amplify the reach of content beyond the original poster’s profile.
It joins Instagram's growing list of collaboration features like Collab posts, collaborative Stories, and Remix. The change gives creators more visibility for tagged collaborations on their own profiles.
Threads Polishes Podcast Tools and Profile Analytics
And a little more about Threads! They are adding new tools for podcasters, such as podcast profile and post banners, episode pickers, tappable link cards, transcripts, guest cards, and automatic reminders to promote new episodes. Users can also save episodes, and new Podcast Insights show engagement, clicks, and saves.
Threads has also revamped its profile analytics, which now includes AI-generated summaries of account and post performance. Creators now have more insight into how their followers and non-followers are engaging, trends in their audience, and what topics or communities are moving the needle.
Collectively, the updates give creators more tools to promote content and better understand how audiences find and engage with it.
